The Startup2Startup Bangalore powered by Atom Technologies, on the 22nd May, 2015 marked another successful Indian edition of Startup2Startup in India's Silicon Valley at one of the finest luxury Hotel - The Hyatt, Bangalore. The theme of the event was "Bridging the Valleys" & had Pragati Ray - Chief Technology Evangelist - Paypal, B Rudramuni - Executive Director & Head - DELL India R&D, Dewang Neralla - MD & CEO - Atom Technologies, Deepak Natraj - Managing Director - Aarin Capital on the panel.
The event was attended by over 65 select entrepreneurs & investors from across Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai that included VCs, Angel networks & family offices. In addition to that, the evening also saw participation of CXOs from Infosys, IBM, Accenture, Xiaomi & Intel.
Moderated by Ashwin Sanzgiri, VP - Scaale group, the panel discussed how the two best angel ecosystems of the world can be brought closer by better idea exchanges among them. Pragati observed that MNCs are always on the lookout for good startups & hence there needs to be a better collaboration between the venture & corporate world. An international angel investor himself, Dewang Neralla shared that as long as the entrepreneurs have the right conviction & approach, the right valuation will come along. On recruiting the right talent Rudramuni brought forth the importance of having right people on board, early on, for a venture in order to be able to execute its growth plans. While discussing on what needs to be kept in mind while pitching, Deepak shared that startups should focus on the key value proposition for which the funding is deployed.
Following the Panel discussion were the round table discussions, where the subject Bridging the Valleys, was deliberated in further details with each venture or investor putting the same in perspective to the venture.
The attendees appreciated the open format of the session & felt the need to hold more of such events for the entrepreneurial eco-system in India where like-minded investors, who are visionaries, can interact with the budding startups & add value by sharing key indicators that startups can watch while building a robust & globally scalable business model. The event saw attendance from some of the country's prominent publications such as Economic Times, Times of India, Business World & Entrepreneur India.
